SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION

Ready to chat about your case? Great! Please take a moment to read up on some of our office policies to decide whether we’re right for each other.

1. We charge for all consultations
With the exception of personal injury cases (due to their unique fee structure), we charge for all consultations, generally $300 for a one-hour consultation. If you end up deciding to hire us, that fee gets applied toward any future bill. We are a busy law firm, and most of our work is billed on an hourly basis–meaning the client is generally expected to produce an initial retainer fee and thereafter be responsible for timely paying bills due. We feel that not offering free consultations effectively screens out people who are not serious about hiring a lawyer, people who are not serious about their case, people who just want free advice, or people who may not seriously be ready to shoulder the cost of litigation. In short, we want you to have skin in the game as we prepare to work for you.

2. We offer limited free 15-minute phone call consultations to determine if your issue is something we can handle
Short of a full consultation, we offer the option of a free 15-minute phone call to discuss whether your case/issue is something we handle. We understand that you may not know what type of lawyer you may need. These calls are limited to a maximum of 15 minutes, and during such a call we will not offer any legal advice on your specific situation or troubleshoot your problem (because that requires a much deeper conversation). Instead, we will discuss whether your type of case/issue is something our office can handle, or whether you would be better served by a different type of lawyer.

3. Consultation fees are non-refundable
Our consultation fees are non-refundable, and sitting for a consultation with our office does not guarantee that we will take your case–although if we believe you have a viable case that we simply cannot handle for whatever reason, we will make every effort to refer you to competent counsel we trust. Again, we expect potential clients coming through our doors are prepared to spend the necessary money on their case, including at the early stage of determining whether they even have a viable case. Think of it this way…if you are considering various law firms to handle your matter and a law office has enough free time in its schedule for free consultations during business hours, what does that tell you about the strength of its practice and its workload?

4. Scheduling a consultation is done through the website form below
In order to get the necessary information and streamline the process, we use an automated scheduler. While current clients can call the office, we prefer potential clients use this online process to best schedule a consultation around our available openings. Fill out the form below, and you will receive an email back guiding you through the process. If you do not receive a response email, please check your spam/junk mail folder, as these emails are part of an automated process.

5. We are sensitive to COVID-19 concerns
If you would prefer to “meet” virtually due to safety concerns with the pandemic, we can arrange that by Skye, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc. Please let us know on the intake form and we will do our best to accommodate.

6. Consultations are not for sales calls
We do not use the consultation/intake process for inbound sales pitches/calls, and such scheduled meetings/calls will be automatically cancelled.
